2009 ANNUAL MEETING
Minutes of Annual Meeting, July 18, 2009, Manzano Mesa Multigenerational Center
Ed Barsis introduced the meeting and announced that the new bylaws and the slate for the
Leadership Team were passed by the members. The Leadership Team voted into office includes Ed Barsis (President), Rebecca Loring (VP and
webmaster), Jim Church (Treasurer), Charlene Baldwin (Secretary), Marilou Cochran, David Fincher, Glenn Hohnstreiter, Cathy Loveday, Mary Paull
and Herb Wright. Contact information for the LT members may be found online. Several
fraudulent votes were detected in the online voting.
We thanked Charlene Baldwin and Cathy Loveday for arranging the venue and providing refreshments. Glenn Hohnstrieter took all the pictures on this web page. As some of you know, Glenn is an internationally renowned photographer.
Victoria Godwin gave the Treasurer’s report and reviewed the individual costs of printing a newsletter. Victoria also mentioned a large number of members who provide in-kind support to the FHVNA. Due to other commitments, which will take her out of town for long periods, Victoria declined to run again for Treasurer.
Following the Treasurer's report, we heard from our guest speakers: Mayor Chavez (11 MB)
State Rep. Berry (14 MB)
Commissioner Brasher (15MB)
City Councilor Harris (21 MB)
APD Sgt. Thompson (11 MB)
Their talks and the associated Q&A may be heard above. All the talks were well received. Sergeant
Thompson’s talk, highlighting residents' concerns for safety, stimulated much interest from the audience. The audio quality of the proceedings can be
improved in places and we intend to do better next year. Nevertheless, the speakers' prepared comments can be understood very well. After Sergeant Thompson’s presentation the meeting adjourned.
